Dr Reeves has advanced training in the diagnosis and management of glaucoma. He offers a variety of laser and surgical treatments including non-penetrating glaucoma surgery.

He enjoys passing on his ophthalmic knowledge and has been actively involved in teaching medical students, registrars, optometrists, general practitioners and other health professionals. He has had ongoing involvement in research since medical school and has authored a number of peer reviewed scientific papers as well as presenting at national and international conferences

Training and Principal Qualifications:

Dr. Reeves studied medicine at the University of Otago and graduated in 1998. He honed his skills in his hometown of Palmerston North and Christchurch before heading to the UK where he met his future wife in Cornwall.

He trained in Ophthalmology in the north west of England, gaining Fellowship of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists. His UK training involved working both in large university teaching hospitals and smaller district general hospitals. This gave him a broad ophthalmic education with exposure to a wide range of eye diseases. He then returned to New Zealand in 2012 to undertake a glaucoma fellowship in Wellington.

He was in private practice in Wellington for two years until taking up a position at the Manukau Superclinic at the start of 2016.

Dr Reeves is married to Trish a General Practitioner and they have two young sons. When he's not supporting his sons in their extracurricular activities he enjoys creating culinary masterpieces for his family and friends. 

He also enjoys photography, scuba diving and exploring the beaches around Auckland.
