Dr Narme Deva is a key opinion leader for Medical retina and Uveitis in New Zealand and an expert cataract surgeon. She graduated from Auckland Medical School in 2002, and in addition to her Ophthalmology training also obtained a Doctorate in Medicine. Dr Deva has spent over two years at the highly prestigious Moorfields Eye Hospital, London where she completed fellowships in Medical Retina and Uveitis as well as a dedicated Cataract fellowship. She has a logical approach, an empathetic manner and a passion for the pursuit of excellence.

Dr Deva has been involved in several clinical trials in retina disease management and has presented at national and international conferences. Her work has been published in prestigious peer-reviewed Ophthalmology journals.

Outside of work, Dr Deva spends time with her husband, who she met on the first day of medical school, their intrepid daughters and two dogs, Arlington and Alfred. Before the world of medicine, Dr Deva was a well-known Indian classical dancer. More recently she has become involved in the Auckland theatre scene with regular performances.
