iLASIK with IntraLase iFS
New Zealand’s only provider of iLASIK – the safest and most advanced LASIK in the world – now with the very latest IntraLase laser, so you can have the safest, fastest, most comfortable and most effective laser vision correction in the world.
No-stitch cataract surgery
Our eye doctors were the first in New Zealand to pioneer no-stitch surgery for cataracts and other vision correction procedures. This highly advanced technique removes the cataract through a very small hole and means you benefit from dramatically reduced recovery time.
On-site vitreoretinal surgery
The only private clinic in Auckland with a fully equipped on-site vitreoretinal theatre. This, along with our investment in the very latest piece of equipment for vitreous surgery, the Constellation Vision System, ensures you’ll enjoy a safer procedure and faster recovery from your vitrectomy.
State-of-the-art theatre beds and chairs
Not only will you benefit from the most advanced vision correction equipment and procedures at Eye Institute, you’ll also enjoy the comfort of the most up-to-date environments, patient care processes, and even theatre beds and chairs. Because we are committed to making sure that every step of your experience with us is outstanding.
We also recognise that eye clinics in developing countries often need help, which is why we recently donated the beds and chairs replaced by our new equipment to a charitable eye clinic overseas.
Eye Institute is Auckland’s Dedicated eye clinic
We offer a dedicated eye clinic and purpose-built eye clinic at Auckland’s Eye Institute that is exceptionally well equipped.
New Zealand’s first day-stay eye clinic
Our main eye clinic – situated in the peaceful Auckland suburb of Remuera – features New Zealand’s first purpose-built ‘day-stay’ eye hospital, providing highly specialised eye care in a dedicated clinic, reducing the need for overnight stays in hospital. This contributes greatly to your care and comfort and helps keep treatment costs down for you.
While most treatments are day-stay procedures, there are some that may still require an overnight stay. In that case, we offer the option to stay overnight at nearby Ascot Hospital, with transport provided in a courtesy car accompanied by a registered nurse.
Certified by the DAA Group Ltd.
Our certification is for excellent standards in quality of patient care, something we value highly.
Up-to-date eye clinic facilities that make you feel relaxed
To ensure you are stress-free and comfortable when you come for your eye surgery, we invest continually in keeping our eye clinic up to date. It’s not just state of the art equipment, we’ve also designed a state of the art space, where the design, décor and furnishings will all help you relax, even the music, videos and reading materials are there to help you achieve a calm state of mind before your surgery.
Your relatives or friends are always welcome to accompany you to the clinic. They can wait in our comfortable, air-conditioned reception areas, or the more curious can be close to you during your eye surgery by viewing through an observation window.
Safety in our eye clinic
Your eye surgery will be performed in a true theatre environment, with fully trained specialist theatre staff, assuring you of the highest levels of cleanliness and safety.
Our eye hospital is also equipped with HEPA (High-Efficiency Particulate Air) filters, which can safely remove more than 99.97% of airborne particles.
Clinics throughout Auckland
Our main eye clinic in Remuera is easily accessible from the SH1 motorway, with plenty of free parking and lift access.
However, you may find it more convenient to visit one of our satellite clinics throughout Auckland, including Eye Institute North Shore, Eye Institute New Lynn and the Eye Institute South eye clinic in Manukau. These smaller clinics are well equipped and staffed by our experienced specialist eye doctors, although for some procedures you may still need to visit the main clinic in Remuera.
