Ophthalmic Theatre Clinical Lead - Registered Nurse

Eye Institute is a leading provider of ophthalmic care and ophthalmic surgery. We have day stay facilities located in Remuera, Manukau and the North Shore.

An incredible opportunity has become available for professional RN’s with leadership and theatre experience to join our team. As a registered nurse, you will possess excellent communications skills, and the ability to work in a faced paced, challenging and fun filled environment.

You will be part of a multidisciplinary team delivering optimum standards of patient care in the Operating Theatre Suite, applying knowledge and skills to critically assess, provide and manage care required by patients with ophthalmic conditions.The Ophthalmic Theatre Clinical Lead Nurse is responsible for staff management in all of our day stay facility theatres and for meeting the clinical care needs of patients in the area they are responsible for.

To be effective in this role, you must be flexible and have a high level of initiative and motivation.

To be successful in this role you must possess:

  • NZ registration
  • A minimum three (3) years post-qualification experience in theatre area
  • At least two (2) years people management experience in busy and demanding environment
  • Ophthalmic experience (preferred)
  • Demonstrated continuous quality improvement in work practices
  • Sound understanding of compliance requirements
  • Energy, drive, and passion for excellence
  • An approachable, supportive personality and flair for mentoring your team
  • High level of professional accountability and leadership

Your responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing facility performance
  • Providing support to your clinical management team and wider facility workforce
  • Building strong relationships with all internal and external stakeholders
  • Reporting
  • People management and workforce planning
  • Ensuring your site meets H&S and HDSS standards is well maintained & welcoming
