New Equipment at Eye Institute, New Lynn - YAG Laser.

Eye Institute’s satellite practice at New Lynn has the very latest in YAG laser technology.

The YAG laser allows convenient, close to home treatment of posterior capsular opacification following cataract surgery and providing YAG iridotomies for narrow angles for West Auckland patients.

Dr Peter Hadden, a Cataract and Retinal Surgeon at Eye Institute Remuera and New Lynn said the new laser will complement the other specialised equipment and services at the practice.

“By enhancing the service available for patients in West Auckland, it further reduces the need for them to travel into town,” he said.

Among equipment at Eye Institute New Lynn is an OCT and a Humphrey Field Analyser for automated keratometry. Avastin injections can also be done at the practice.
