Dr Gray received double Fellowship subspecialist training in vision correction (Moorfields Eye Hospital London and Bascom Palmer Eye Institute Miami). Patients and referrers trust Dr Gray’s solid reputation for leading edge microsurgery, his passion for excellence and ability to communicate well.
Vision correction is a highly specialised field within Ophthalmology. Dr Gray has been appointed as Clinical Senior Lecturer in Ophthalmology (University of Auckland) where he continues to train young ophthalmologists and optometrists in the science and art of modern vision correction.
Having personally performed many thousands of LASIK eye surgery procedures, Dr Gray has significant surgical experience. He also specialises in the management of complications and consults with patients who have experienced complications at other clinics.
Explanation and good communication is key to achieving the visual goals of his patients. Dr Gray and his dedicated staff strive to excel at open, friendly, honest communication.

Aside from being an experienced LASIK eye doctor, Dr Gray is also an expert in PRK, refractive lens exchange, and many others. You’ll always receive personalised vision care from Dr Gray, and if you're not a good candidate for a particular procedure, he'll suggest an appropriate alternative for you. - Implantable Contact Lenses
Implantable Contact Lenses (ICLs) are a procedure that offers better quality of vision and lower risk than Custom LASIK for patients who have thinner than normal corneas and high degree of near-sightedness. Dr Gray has more than a decade of experience, and a special interest in helping patients with high prescriptions (high myopia, high hyperopia and high astigmatism). He is uniquely positioned with special training in this field. Many patients with high prescriptions are referred to Dr Gray because of his reputation for precision and attention to detail. Regular analysis of his results help provide excellent outcomes for these patients. - Celebrity vision correction
With Dr Gray’s reputation, surgical skills and experience, he has performed successful vision correction surgery on many NZ celebrities and professional sports people. Dr Gray is married to Caroline, a Breast Physician and magical juggler of kids, dog, home, profession and obsessive compulsive husband. He has two “cool kids” (now young adults) who love guitar, Kiwi music, surfing and skiing. Trevor tries to keep up with the kids surfing, skiing, sea kayaking and golfing… but is slowly losing ground to the younger generation!
