Optical community pulls together
Many of those that have been affected by recent events has heralded the assistance they’ve received from someone – whether it be an optical wholesaler, an association, a colleague, a local council or even an insurance company.

Eye Institute staff raise $12,205 for earthquake appeal
Fundraising events for the victims of the catastrophic earthquake are taking place all across the country. In Auckland, Eye Institute wanted to do its bit to help raise funds. One of the staff suggested that all staff contribute two hours of pay to a fund. On the Tuesday after the earthquake the 43 staff and directors did just this as well as making individual contributions. A mighty $12,205 was raised and is being donated to the Red Cross Christchurch earthquake appeal. Well done!
