Eye Institute South Officially Opens
Drs Trevor Gray and Nick Mantell very proudly showed off their new specialist eye clinic to their optometry colleagues in Manukau City last month.
An opening function was held to celebrate the move into the brand new purpose designed clinic which comprises five fully equipped consulting rooms, a reception and waiting room area, and several diagnostic areas featuring major instruments including an OCT for retina and glaucoma, a topography unit and visual field machine.
Guests were told ‘Eye Institute South’ will be staffed five days a week and a full time manager, Aaron Sheldrake will always be available. Those attending got the chance to inspect all the rooms and the latest equipment supplied by Carl Zeiss, OIC and Optimed.
As well as Drs Gray and Mantell, Dr Simon Dean will also be holding clinics at the centre. The three ophthalmologists based at the clinic have sub-specialist expertise in cataract surgery, epiretinal membranes, macular hole, medical retina, oculo-plastics and glaucoma.
The doctors acknowledged the diverse makeup of the wider Manukau City and look forward to working more closely with the optometrists in the surrounding area.
