Dr Tony Morris is an innovator in Laser Vision Correction. Sophisticated technology needs expert skill and Dr Morris is one of Australasia’s most accomplished and experienced lasik specialists. He has played a leading role in developing Refractive Surgery in New Zealand. His testimonials speak for themselves.

Passion for Laser Vision Correction …
The majority of Dr Morris’s patients have been referred by other leading eyecare professionals across the country as well as the many satisfied patients who have been thrilled by his high standards of care and communication. A significant number of patients come from overseas.

Dr Morris was short-sighted himself from a young age which sparked an interest in laser vision correction. He was therefore one of the first surgeons to perform laser vision correction in New Zealand and is currently the only surgeon in Auckland specialising only in iLASIK Vision Correction. He has had refractive surgery himself and like many of his patients has found this to be a life-changing experience.
Specialises in Laser Vision Correction …
Dr Morris specialises in Laser Vision Correction and has performed over 20,000 operations including 3,500 using the Intralase.

His full time commitment to laser vision correction surgery enables him to continue his ongoing research in the development of refractive surgery.
Complex and Difficult Prescriptions …
Dr Morris’s experience assists in helping patients with complex and difficult prescriptions (high myopia, high hyperopia and high astigmatism).

Patients that have been turned down for laser surgery before are welcome to make an appointment for a free assessment with Dr Morris. Times have changed and technology has changed so it is worthwhile to make that call.
Meets all patients at Initial Free Assessment …
Dr Morris understands the importance of his patients discussing laser vision correction in person with him as their surgeon and ensures that he is present throughout the assessment, surgery and post operative consultations. Patients therefore only need the one visit with Dr Morris at Eye Institute prior to their surgery.

The concept of blended vision, correction for both distance and near vision after the age of 45, needs careful assessment and explanation.
Special Interest in Golf and Sport …
Dr Morris has operated on many leading sports people and golf professionals. His personal interest in golf helps in achieving the desired visual outcomes to enable competition in sport at the top level.

He has operated on his optometrist Anna and several other staff members at Eye Institute. He has also operated on his sister and daughter.

In addition he has performed Laser Vision Correction on many well known New Zealand celebrities, fellow medical practitioners and their families.

Personal Statement:

’I have experienced firsthand the life-changing effect improved vision can have on your life. I personally underwent refractive surgery, and therefore understand the truly amazing benefits of blended vision. As an Eye Surgeon, it was incredibly satisfying and is what ultimately sparked my interest in Laser Vision Correction. Because of this, I was amongst the first in Eye Surgeons in NZ to perform Laser Vision Correction and today am the only Eye Doctor in Auckland specializing only in iLASIK Vision Correction.’

Academic Experience:

Dr Antony Morris trained at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London for 5 years before returning to Auckland to commence private practice specialising in corneal and cataract surgery as well as contact lens management.

Along with his colleagues at Eye Institute, Dr Antony Morris was among the first in NZ to perform Laser Vision Correction. As the only Eye Doctor in Auckland specialising solely in Laser Vision Correction, Dr Morris only uses the latest, safest, most advanced form of Vision Correction - iLASIK.
